Temporary Courthouse – Roscommon

Awaiting the refurbishment of Roscommon Courthouse, the Courts Service identified a structure for a temporary home (5-10 years). MMA Architects developed a detailed design for a building that now houses circuit and district court sittings, multi defendant trials, family law trials, and ancillary services. Working in a unique environment within a constraint space, the building meets the testing requirements of a modern courthouse. A new in situ concrete portico, is a link back to Roscommon Courthouse, and engenders the building with the sense of importance the Court requires.
